Is there a warranty following a repair of my mining equipment?
Absolutely! We are confident in the work of our team and we know the low reliability of mining hashboards in general. It is very difficult for a company to offer a warranty on miner repair work, especially when it comes to hashboards. MIner SOS does, however, offer 24-hour coverage for hashboard repairs and 3-day coverage for complete machines from the time of receiving. The reason the duration differs is that the hashboard is more susceptible to damage during shipping and handling than the full unit. In addition, when you send us a complete unit for repair, it allows us to do a complete Quality Control of each part. Note that this warranty only applies to equipment that Miner SOS managed to repair and for which you have been billed. Under no circumstances will this coverage apply to all items received by Miner SOS, as some of them will, unfortunately, be "no-fix".
My repair is labeled "canceled" or "no-fix". What is happening?
When a repair is canceled or marked as no-fix, it means our team has detected unrecoverable damage. In most cases, this will be a part that has blown out but has also damaged the PCB, burnt traces or power, or broken pads. These components are essential for the proper flow of the signal through the board, so it becomes impossible or extremely expensive, as well as very time-consuming to repair these components. Please note that our team tries repairs in several ways before declaring a board canceled. If a level 1 repair technician cannot make it work, the board will be transferred to the level 2 repair technician queue. If it fails again after this queue, repairing the board will be canceled. No-fix hashboards are often discovered when the equipment is received or when the boxes are opened, but it can also be declared after diagnosis that the card will require too much time to recover, or on observation of a need for repair greater than 5 chips included in the package. In any case, a card without repair is not necessarily absolutely irreparable, but in most cases, it will not be profitable for either party to undertake that repair. It's our policy to only charge for what we deliver, so canceled repairs and no-fix are free of charge, you won't have to pay a dime for our labor, diagnostics, etc.
How long can repairs take?
Our target times are 15 working days for hashboards and 30 for the full units. In some cases, we may be out of a particular part that your machine needs. A worldwide shortage of semiconductors can sometimes leave us without the necessary components. It can lengthen the repair time.
Can I take my miner back at any time?
Yes. If you cannot wait for your repair, you are free to ask us to return your equipment to you at any time. Miner SOS is not responsible for any revenue opportunities that your miner does not generate during the time it's under repair.
Does the repair process make me lose money?
The repair process does not make you lose money during the time of the repair. The status of your miner is non-working. A non-working miner does not make money. Miner SOS repairs your miners and allows your miners to make money again.
What does a reconditioned machine mean?
A reconditioned machine is a used miner or a repaired miner. Time to time we offer reconditioned miners for sale. All reconditioned units that have to go through a long and rigorous process of diagnostics, adjustments, and repairs. They are fully tested for quality control.
